Hello, Samuel Eglington ran Bawdeswell smockmill for only a short time and sold up in 1858 - see my Norfolkmills website page - www.norfolkmills.co.uk/Windmills/bawdeswell-smockmill.html Jonathan Neville Hello everyone, I am trying to track the EGLINGTON family in the Bawdeswell register beginning in 1557. I have not been able to find any transcription but perhaps a lister can point me in the right direction. I have a photocopy from 20 years ago but have made little progress as they are devilishly hard to decipher. My interest arises because a Samuel Eglington (abt 1700 to 1783) and Sarah Humfrey (1708 to 1789) were my 5th great-grandparents. Both died in neighbouring Kerdiston but I have not been able to find any documentation for the birth and parents of either of them. Bawdeswell seems a good possibility as there were many Eglingtons there until about 1700 and at one stage Samuel operated a mill in Bawdeswell. Many thanks for any help, John Le Mesurier, Canberra ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NORFOLK-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message Sent from my iPad
