If you didn't manage to spot the hidden LDS link (as it appeared as a dead end) then I found the following info Appears to be born in 1740 Marries Susannah Taylor 05 NOV 1776 Attleborough, Norfolk, England Source of DOB unknown apart from "Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church. No additional information is available. Ancestral File may list the same family and the submitter" -------Original Message------- From: Gerry Newnham Date: 15/11/2011 21:17:58 To: norfolk@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NFK] Norfolk Marriage Licenses Rosemary, You are very unlikely to be able obtain the Marriage Licence. This would have been handed by the Groom to the Vicar. It is unlikely to have survived as it wouldn't have been needed after the ceremony was over. What you can see is the Affidavit and Bond for the Marriage Licence. Peter Richardson has supplied the link to the Norwich A&Bs. Then go to Norfolk>Archdeaconry of Norfolk Court>1776-1777 and then go to Image 272 and 273. It says (image 273) that George claims to be "of the Age of One and Twenty years and upwards and a Bachelor". It is unlikely that he was telling a lie under oath but you cannot be sure. However, the balance of probability is that he wasn't under age. Good luck. David, I'm looking at the Banns and Marriages images from Attleborough for 1776 (image 31) and George Baker married Susan Taylor on the 5 Dec 1776. When their children are baptised she is known as Susannah. On the 5th Nov 1776 John Page and Ann Stacy were married by Banns. Their entry is at the top of the page with George and Susan following straight after. Th entry previous to this (on image 30) is in October. I haven't followed this forward to the ATs or BT's as these are transcriptions as well. Thanks for taking the time to look.
