    3. Could any ENGLAND researchers out there help me knock down a 20 year old brick wall? I have been looking for the birth, etc. of my 3 x Great Grandmother, Sarah ENGLAND who married William PESTELL at Paston on 21st October 1799, witnesses were Elizabeth GAZE, Hannah GAZE and Mary WOOLERTON. The couple went on to have 6 children, all born at East Ruston between 1800 and 1811. Sarah was buried at East Ruston on 17 January 1813 supposedly aged 36. Here's Hoping Bob Pestell Plymouth Devon.

    3. Hi Bob Have you looked for the ENGLAND surname in parishes up and down the coast? Are there gaps around 1777 in adjoining parishes? 3. Hello Bob I know we have been in touch re Sarah ENGLAND and established she is probably not connected to my ENGLAND family that I can trace back to Docking in the 1600s, but I have just had a thought - could Sarah ENGLAND who married William PESTELL in Paston in 1799 have been a widow and that fact was omitted from the records? Just a thought.... Best regards Elizabeth Pugh Whitehorse Yukon Canada

    3. Dear All Many thanks for your replies to my enquiry concerning Sarah ENGLAND. Elizabeth Howard. I thought that Sarah Born in Ludham in 1773 may well be mine until I discovered she died in 1788. While not discounting the Sarah born at North Wootton in 1779, it is a small village just north of Kings Lynn and is a long way (approx 60 miles) to where she married in Paston, a long way for a 20 year old girl to travel in those days. David I am having a look through the Archdeacons and Bishops Transcripts in the area but it is hard going!. Bonnie Several of the Parishes I want to look at along the coast are regrettably not on FamilySearch although some have been transcribed on FreeReg. Jane I have tried the other spellings but with no luck. Elizabeth Pugh I have checked again the Paston transcripts and there is no doubt that she is entered as "single woman of the Parish of Paston". One thought about Sarah, why was she living at Paston when she was not Baptised there? (the two Gaze sisters were). Could she be employed at Paston Hall in the village and part of Lord Anson's Estate. Must try to find if there are Estate records available. My Regards to you all Bob Pestell Plymouth Devon.
