    3. Hi everyone One again I am returning to the list to try and learn a little more about my 4 x ggreat grandmother, Sarah Whales born c1767 (or Wells) She married John Barrett in Hindolveston in 1790, this being his second marriage. Last night I decided to methodically go through the Parish Register for Gunthorpe, where Sarah and John spent the first few years of their marriage and had a family, and then checked the Hindolveston register. I found two additional children in the register born in Gunthorpe - James bap 1794 and William in 1797. The family  moved to Wells next the Sea around 1805 where John and Sarah both spent the rest of their lives.  So far, I have not found a baptism for Sarah in Hindolveston, although there was a William Wells and wife Sarah raising their children, all born around the 1760s. No baptism for Sarah though.  To come to the point, I today have found a William Barrett, publican, born 1797 living in  Dickleburgh with his family in 1841. Living next door is William Whales aged 70!!! Is this an eureka moment or wishful thinking? Then on the 1851 a widowed William Barrett is in lodgings in Wells Next the Sea residing with blacksmith Thos. Garrett. (Wm's father John Barrett, brother's were blacksmiths). The William in 1851 is definitely my William, but is this him on the 1841 census living 41 miles away? What were the transport links in 1840's. If it isn't him, where is he on the 1841?  Jackie
