    1. [NFK] George Frankish

    3. After being widowed my 2x great grandmother Eliza married George FRANKISH in Great Yarmouth on December 19th 1858. He is described as aged 26 and a labourer. His father - also George - was also a labourer. They then lived in Burgh Castle where a daughter, Margaret Eliza, was born in 1860. On the 1861 census Eliza is living with her parents and children from both her marriages in Burgh Castle. The description 'Mar' is crossed out, suggesting she is no longer married. On the 1871 census she is clearly described as a widow and she married for the third time in August 1873. I am looking for any more information about George Frankish. Birth / baptism about 1830? any census or a death / burial between 1859 (if he died before his daughter was born) and 1871 (when Eliza is definitely described as a widow.) The only other possibility I have found is an 1841 census - aged 14, which may be him, living in Grundisburgh, Suffolk and born in Suffolk. He is a male servant working for a butcher. The age is not quite right to fit with the marriage certificate. I suspect the name 'Frankish' is unusual enough to have a variety of spellings and be resistant to surname searches. Any help, as always, much appreciated. Enid ps As Burgh Castle used to be in Suffolk, but is now part of Norfolk I am posting this to both Norfolk & Suffolk rootsweb. I hope this is okay.
