I have found an ancestor working for the Mid and G N H Railway in the 1911 census. I presume the initials GN stand for great Northern, but can't work out what the other initial is for. Can someone please give me the correct name for the Mid and G N H Railway, so I can look up information on it. Thanks, Nan Bailey Qld Australia
Nan, The Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway operated in this area - the "H" element is not something I have come across but I am far from being a railway expert.
