I have been looking at the 1777 census of Bunwell, compiled by the incumbent at the time. It is on Genuki. http://www.origins.org.uk/genuki/NFK/places/b/bunwell/census1777.shtml can someone tell me what an Inmate was at the time? It would seem too many and too spread out for a workhouse. I wondered if it could mean 'lodger'? Jan
