    3. I finally found my ggg grandfather's baptism (John COLMAN) confirming his baptism in 1790 in Swanton Novers to John and Mary (nee Muffet or Mofat etc). I had already searched on microfilm at the LDS library but missed it - I found it courtesy of the new images loaded by LDS. Very difficult to read no wonder I missed it. I've also been able to check off many other records - isn't it great to have all of them online? Fortunately the details of the second born William in 1792 shows the mother's maiden name. Strangely enough there are no other children to be found even though they lived until 1837 and 1839 respectively and in the same place. I am trying to find 4x g gf John's parents. Per the burial record this John was born abt 1762. The likely one is the from the marriage of John and Sarah (nee Chrismas) who married Nov 12, 1761 in Stody. I have found several children the first being Elizabeth Mar 24, 1763. However the expected ch of John late 1761/early 1762 did not materialize and I have searched all the nearby villages. Does anyone have any details? GGG Gf John married Elizabeth BALLS (fortunately they named the first born in Barney John Balls Colman). Elizabeth Balls was born 20 Aug Great Yarmouth to Samuel and Elizabeth Howes  I think that is her middle name not nee and I found a marriage in Yarmouth to Elizabeth Flemming but it didn't mention Howes. Anybody researching the BALLS in Yarmouth? Paul

There are too many of them to make sense of - at the moment I have found Elizabeth daughter of Samuel Balls & Elizabeth Flemming was buried as an infant on 20th October 1793 so she is unlikely to be the one you are looking for. It seems likely that these were the parents of Mary Ann chr 10th June 1806, Elizabeth's name being given as Flamanke. Samuel Balls and Elizabeth Johnson produced James (c.1795-1798) and William (c.1800-1803). Samuel Balls and Elizabeth Yallop produced William chr 31st Oct 1793. Finally I have found a James Guskwin Balls born 26 May 1797, but christened twenty years later on 24th April 1817 to Samuel, a millwright, and Elizabeth unknown. Regards Peter
