    3. Just to make things even more complicated. The Aylsham Parish Baptism Register shows: 7 Feb 1847. Elizabeth D. of Robert & Sarah Spink. The Aylsham Parish Baptism Register shows: 29 Apr 1849. Elizabeth D. of Robert & Ann Spink. Underneath Elizabeth's name is the date 7 Feb 1847. FreeREG records this date as the date of birth which is a reasonable assumption. There is also a Baptism for Elizabeth's Sister Hannah on 29 April 1849 There is a BMD Birth record for Elizabeth Spink in 1847 and another one in 1849. It is a strange coincidence if the second Elizabeth is born on the same day that the first one is Baptised. I have heard of children being Baptised twice but not registered twice. And the Mother's names are different. I wonder what is going on? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello everybody I have a family member called Elizabeth SPINK. Born 7 Feb 1847 in Aylsham. Not a direct ancestor just filling in some gaps. I am trying to find a marriage for her and I am stuck. There are two possible ones in the BMDs in 1871 and 1875. Unfortunately, neither of them appear in the Aylsham Parish Register so I cannot identify the correct one, assuming either of them are. I cannot find her in the 1871 census and the 1871 marriage is registered in Jul-Sep quarter so she should appear in her maiden name. Using the possible surnames of spouses in FMP I did an 1881 census search and came up with one possible, married to Charles Grix (the 1871 record). She gives her birth place as Burgh next Aylsham which isn't right but everything else matches. There are a couple of other Elizabeth Spinks registered a few years earlier but that would make the ages on the census wrong.

    3. Hi Richard, I believe the area around Aylsham and Norwich was liberaly sprinkled with Robert Spink's. I think this is your family in 1851 in Aylsham : Robert Spink Head 38 Ag Lab All born Aylsham Ann " Wife 29 Sarah Ann " Dau 10 Charlotte " " 6 Elizabeth " " 4 Hannah " " 2 James " Father 77 born Burgh Thomas " Brother 19 " Aylsham Robert Spink married Ann Spink Williamson 2nd Q 1842 in Aylsham There was another married of a Robert Spink in Aylsham Jan-Mar 1848 which could have produced the other Elizabeth Spink born 1849. Just an overabundance of Robert Spinks I think Gill Smith ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard" <rjsfh1949@googlemail.com> To: <norfolk@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 01, 2011 7:32 AM Subject: Re: [NFK] Looking for a Spink Marriage in Aylsham > Just to make things even more complicated. > > The Aylsham Parish Baptism Register shows: 7 Feb 1847.
