Dear Listers, I am hoping that someone may be able to help me. I am looking for the Parents of - Frederick William MARKHAM born March qtr., 1877 in the Norwich District of Norfolk. Frederick married Florence Louise BIRD born December qtr., 1877 in Camden Town in the September qtr., 1897 in the Norwich District. Frederick appears in the 1881 Census with his Uncle & Aunt - Jasper & Maria RUDLING ( nee BUTLER ). Jasper & Maria were born in 1829 & 1834 respectively both in Wymondham. As Frederick is listed as a Nephew he could be related to either Jasper or Maria. In the 1891 Census Frederick is with his Uncle - Jasper RUDLING. I have looked on Free BMD for either a MARKHAM / RUDLING or a MARKHAM / BUTLER marriage without any luck. Any assistance in locating Frederick’s parents would be greatly appreciated. Hi, the simplest answer is to get the birth certificate or the marriage certificate , both of which should give the father`s name . Jasper Rudling came from Wymondham and is the son of James and Sarah Rudling, he was a silk and worstead weaver aged 45 in the 1841 census and Jasper was 11 . Jasper Rudling married Maria Butler in the Marylebone district in the March 1/4 of 1854 vol 1a p 636. I think if he is listed as nephew , he should be the nephew of the head of the house which was presumably Jasper . There is a marriage between Emma Maria Rudling and Frederick William Markham in Norwich district , Dec 1/4 1876 vol 4b p 333.
