    3. It gave no age on the records, normal for that time, and he said 'of this parish' which was Wendling. I found it unusual as his wife, Elizabeth Farrar, was baptised in 1793 in Wendling, making her 12 years older than him. Officially, the age at which parental consent was not required to get married varied, but was normally taken to be 21. There again, if the man lied about his age, how was the priest supposed to know? Unless he was known.
