    3. Hi Mike No age is given on the marriage register in that time frame. Though Thomas and Elizabeth died in Hull in 1880 aged 76 and 1881 respectively. Looking at early census records, I don't think Thomas knew where he was born. Perhaps he was baptised in a non-conformist register?? Officially, the age at which parental consent was not required to get married varied, but was normally taken to be 21. There again, if the man lied about his age, how was the priest supposed to know? Unless he was known.
