    3. Won't help with finding Georgina/Georgiana's baptism but I think this is her mother and young brother in 1871. Correctly indexed as Soanes on Findmypast. Indexed on Ancestry as Janes. RG10/633 folio 92 page 16 Civil parish of St Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey Rebecca, lodger, 27, marriner's wife, Great Yarmouth George Hy (sic), son of lodger, 2 months, Great Yarmouth. Likely marriage George Henry Soanes September quarter 1863 Yarmouth registration district with Rebecca Hannant on the same page. Likely death registration for Rebecca, June quarter 1873 St Olave registration district. (includes Bermondsey.) With a death registration of a George Henry Soanes, aged 3, September quarter St Olave registration district. All I know is that her father was George Henry Soanes, a mariner and ships engineer. The family later moved to London where in 1875 George remarried . In 1871 Georgina is staying in Great Yarmouth with her younger sister Eliza at the house of Peter and Charlotte Fitt (?). There is no sign of their father who must have been at sea or their mother who was probably deceased. > > Many thanks > > Jackie > > ------------------------------- >

    3. Wow - thanks Pam. I did see her death registration but  I completely missed her on the 1871 in spite of searching for transcription errors and ruled her out. Amazing to have a second pair of eyes! You're a star! Many thanks again Jackie ________________________________ From: Pam Downes <pam@five-oaks.co.uk> To: norfolk@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, 18 July 2011, 23:17 Subject: Re: [NFK] Soanes - Yarmouth Won't help with finding Georgina/Georgiana's baptism but I think this is her mother and young brother in 1871.
