    3. Hi, there is by chance perhaps a Jas Duncan , convicted in Norwich in 1830 and sentenced to 14 yrs , 7 yrs on each count of theft of a cloak and theft of carpenters tools, to Bermuda .......he is aged 24 in 1830. Of course that may not be him and it does not say where he was born ....but it may be and it would explain his absence . The 1851 census shows Elizabeth Priest , head, W, 82? , pauper, b Gimingham, with Charlotte Duncan, dau , W , 44 , nurse, b Gimingham, and Ezra Duncan, grandson, unm, 16, carter, b Trunch, and Charlotte , granddau, unm, 14 , scholar, b Trunch . So on the basis of the information on the census , self provided so not necessarily the gospel truth, she is a widow as is Charlotte . In the Gimingham records on IGI are a couple Thomas and Elizabeth Press having children around 1799 -- 1808 also Preist and Priest , and this could be your Elizabeth Priest or her family . life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=/// ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Hyde" <phyde67@bigpond.com> To: <norfolk@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 12:55 AM Subject: [NFK] PRIEST & DUNCAN, Gimingham & Trunch > Hi All: > > > > Charlotte PRIEST was born in Gimingham around 1806 and baptised there on > 11 May 1806, to Elizabeth PRIEST. 3. Hi Elizabeth - thanks for that. I like the idea of James DUNCAN being transported - his son, Ezra in the 1881 census is an inmate in Pentonville prison - like father like son? And I had missed the "w" in Elizabeth PRIEST's census record. Thanks Peter ----- Original Message ----- From: "elizabeth howard" <elizgh@btinternet.com> To: <norfolk@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 10:24 PM Subject: [NFK] PRIEST & DUNCAN, Gimingham & Trunch > Hi, there is by chance perhaps a Jas Duncan , convicted > in > Norwich in 1830 and sentenced to 14 yrs , 7 yrs on each count of theft of > a > cloak and theft of carpenters tools, to Bermuda .......he is aged 24 in > 1830.
