Just had a wonderful visit to Castle Acre to see the priory. Our Barker family were in Castle Acre. What an amazing place to see how magnificent the priory ruins understand the senseless destruction of it by Cromwell's mob. Also enjoyed a lovely Devonshire tea at the tea house. My point here is I am from Australia and if not for this wonderful hobby of genealogy I would never have dreamed to go to Norfolk and experience the lovely villages that I visited. Also researching the Barkers of East Dereham, Hoe and surrounds and Munday from Norwich.
