    3. Thank you for your reply. This death is certainly the most plausible. The death certificate states that the cause of death is concussion of the brain (suddenly). The informant is the coroner. Because of that, any family connection is not recorded. I have obtained a copy of the report of the accident as recorded in the Norfolk Chronicle and Gazette that describes in quite good detail the altercation where Sadd was struck on the head, fall backwards, striking his head against a bagatelle board, falling to the floor and never moving again. Poor George that struck him! It appears that he was frustrated and wanted Sadd to just be quiet, a moment later he had caused Sadd's death. I have no doubt it was unintentional. The newspaper reports the coroner's findings is detail. One detail that is different between this John Sadd and mine is his occupation, although the family may have fallen on hard times and John had of necessity changed from a dyer to a laborer. At this time there is a fair bit of circumstantial evidence that this is "my" John Sadd. I continue to look for that elusive bit that connects him with certainty to his family.
