Julie I think the NE of Suffolk came under the Norwich diocese. I am unaware of the exact division between Norwich, Bury St Edmunds dioceses. On this note I see that FreeREG still has the villages that were "usurped" by Norfolk in the mid 70s in the Suffolk list of Parishes in FreeREG (With the exception of Belton which does not appear in either Norfolk or Suffolk. Of particular interest to me as my pob!) As this change was in the "relatively " recent past it may be general knowledge. As a matter of interest is there a resource that might indicate any other Parishes which have changed counties over the years. As an example I am sure that Gorleston, Southown and Cobholm, now firmly part of Gt Yarmouth and Norfolk, were in Suffolk around the start of the 1900s A Happy New Year to all Dave On 28/12/2011 3:31 AM, Norfolk wrote: > You would be better going to Ipswich I think for Bungay and Beccles > records.
