Eliazabeth Just a comment. Toft Monks although fairly close to Beccles, is one of the Parishes which has (had) a detached portion on the island formed by the rivers Waveney and Yare with the New Cut between Haddiscoe and Reedham so he may have stayed closer to home than you might think.
