    1. [NFK] UPDATING NAMES DOUGHTY

    3. Hi, There are two earlier freebmd marriages of a Robert Doughty , to Mary Ann Durrant in the Dec 1/4 of 1842 in the Mitford reg district which is formed of various parishes not too far from the Walpoles . There is a death of a Mary Ann Doughty in the Sept 1/4 of 1846 in the Erpingham reg dist , which is made up of parishes a little further along the coast . There is a March 1/4 1845 marriage of a Robert Doughty to an Elizabeth Abraham in the Erpingham reg dist ......and a death in the Dec 1/4 of 1846 of Elizabeth in the Wisbech reg dist which does cover the Walpoles . By chance in the 1841 census for West Beckham there is a family of Robert Doughty aged 40 , carpenter, Y, with children Robert, 11, Ann, 10, Elizabeth , 9, Lydia , 7, Sophia, 5, Louisa, 3 , and with them is Elizabeth Abraham, 20 , FS , Y. . I think this looks like the second marriage of Robert aged 40 , b c 1800, who may well be a recent widower in 1841 , to the 20 year old Elizabeth Abraham . If Robert Nicholas was born in Walpole there is no absolute reason why he should have been married there . life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=/// ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janice Doughty" <adoughty01@optusnet.com.au> To: <norfolk@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 28, 2011 11:17 PM Subject: [NFK] UPDATING NAMES DOUGHTY > Hello Listers, > > Updating names:- > > DOUGHTY > SAILER > CHILVERS > GATHERCOLE > GRIFFIN > SEEKING > BURCHAM > > The above families hail from Walpole St Peter, Walpole St Andrews, > Towngreen Wymondham, Terrington St Clements. > > James DOUGHTY > Married Ann STAILER in 23rd Nov 1785 of the parish of Terrington St > Clement, Witnesses were Bona EASTER and John OCKLEY Their son:- > > Robert DOUGHTY > Married Alice GATHERCOLE on 14th May 1807 in the parish of Terrington St > Clement by Vicar Ambrose Goode.
