    3. We might have gone over this before, so apologies if we have. When ( post WW2) someone is married, is it an offence to give incorrect details for entry on a marriage certificate. eg father's name or even the correct name of those getting married? Would most people be aware if it was and come clean with real names /correct father's name? I am wondering if it is worth while bothering to buy a batch of certificates to try to locate someone who was unofficially fostered, when I am not sure if the person would have been raised with their birth name or have unwittingly married under the name of the unofficial foster parents. And is it possible to request a certificate conditional on a specific father's name, or does the fee cover the search as much as the certificate? TIA Rosie
