Thanks, David. I have not done much research on the FAIRHEAD family so far and only looked at the PR images on Family Search. Jon doesn't actually say that James was born/baptised in Mundham, although I did assume that it was likely that he came from there. His parents were John & Helen[a] (nee HILARY?) and he was baptised in Mundham on 30 Jan 1785. Is there any connection to James FAIRHEAD do you think? > > Best wishes, > > Gerry > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NORFOLK-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NORFOLK-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Hi again Gerry, According to the 1851 and 1861 censuses, James was born at Mundham in 1789, sorry for not having stated that sooner. Best wishes, Jon
Hi again, Jon. Well, it does look as if Charles and James are brothers. Charles' wife, Lydia TILLETT, was the youngest daughter of Thomas TILLETT and Ann CLAXON (my 5xgreat-grandparents) but I haven't yet found her baptism. She died (probably in childbirth) some time between 1823 & 1828. Charles remarried in 1828 (to Mary) at St Julian, Norwich (Mary was a widow, previous husband surname HOGG, her maiden name not yet known). Charles & Lydia had 5 children (that I have so far traced) and I haven't yet found any children for Charles & Mary. Charles was a butcher in the 1851 Census. I haven't traced him after this date yet.
