    3. Hi, there are 8 George Frankish deaths between 1858 and 1871 , the last two are of babies but the rest are before the date when the age of the deceased person was given .......there are two from Lincoln, one Gainsboro, two Bridlington ......it is possible he moved for work and maybe the one in Birmingham is him ... In fact Eliza in the 1861 is described as an outdoor pauper which means that she has no means of support, and children to feed, so is on the Poor Law system . As to the thick black line drawn through the word Mar, there are a number of lines as you can see through all the entries more or less , and I would think she is possibly isn`t sure . There is a water theme through this , Margaret E is born Oulton , Eliza and George are married at Gt Yarmouth, and I wonder therefore if George isn`t dead in Bridlington ? However , there is a Geo Frankish in Sheffield, Arnold, who calls himself a widower, aged 30 , a carrier, b Lincolnshire , Elsham and with him is Mary Jane , dau , 1, b Arnold, and a visitor Eliza Johnson , aged 23 , b Beverley ............ life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=/// ----- Original Message ----- From: "Enid Rispin" <enid.rispin@ntlworld.com> To: "Suffolk Rootsweb" <suffolk@rootsweb.com> Cc: "Norfolk Rootsweb" <NORFOLK@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 03, 2011 7:20 PM Subject: [NFK] George Frankish > After being widowed my 2x great grandmother Eliza married George FRANKISH > in Great Yarmouth on December 19th 1858. 3. I am researching Robert Woods and Harriet Loveday. Robert was a Corn Miller and Baker. He married Harriet Loveday in 1843 and Harriet is the one I most wish to know about. The census tells me she was born in Quidenham about 1825 but I would like to know who her parents were and the correct year of her birth. Harriet gave birth to 12 children over the next 17 years all born at Kenninghall. The census also tells me that the family lived at 45 Market Place, Kenninghall so would the bakery be run from their home or from a shop. I have no idea what Kenninghall would have looked like in those early days. I hope some one can help me with this. Many thanks Eileen in Australia.

Birth / baptism about 1830? any census or a death / burial between 1859 (if he died before his daughter was born) and 1871 (when Eliza is definitely described as a widow.) The only other possibility I have found is an 1841 census - aged 14, which may be him, living in Grundisburgh, Suffolk and born in Suffolk. He is a male servant working for a butcher. The age is not quite right to fit with the marriage certificate. I suspect the name 'Frankish' is unusual enough to have a variety of spellings and be resistant to surname searches. 3. Kenninghall, judging by the buildings standing there today would have been a well established bustling market town. If you go to google maps you can see what it looks like today with the little man streetview tool. Have a look here - especially the Directories which give a contemporary description. http://www.origins.org.uk/genuki/NFK/places/k/kenninghall/ Quidenham conversely was a small village dominated by the big house - again see the directory description on the genuki website. 3. Hi, Harriet Loveday is 14 and a FS working for an Ind lady Mary Collngs, 65, in Quidenham in the 1841 census which makes her date of birth 1827 , a few doors away in Quidenham is a family which have been indexed as Lardy , and in fact it could be Lovdy , William , 50, ag lab, Mary , 45, Wm , 20 , ag lab, John , 12, ag lab, Miriam, 12, James, 5 and Elizth, 3 . I was going to say to check that Harriet is the dau of Wm and Mary by getting her marriage cert to Robert Woods but I cannot find that on freebmd . However Robert Woods , aged 8 and said to be born in Quidenham, is possibly the birth in Dec 1/4 of 1842 , in the Guiltcross district vol 13 p 153. If Harriet and Robert were married then presumably it was not in 1843 as you quote unless this Robert b 1842 came first . If Harriet is correctly 14 in the 1841 then she had Robert at 15 . Using Guiltcross as the reg district , as it applies to Kenninghall as well , there is a marriage of a Harriet Loveday to Henry Pinner, in the Dec 1/4 1840 , a Rebecca in March 1/4 1841 , and a Sarah and Hannah in 1847. life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=/// ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eileen Roby" <eiloon@spin.net.au> To: <NORFOLK@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 03, 2011 11:00 AM Subject: [NFK] Robert and Harriet Woods >I am researching Robert Woods and Harriet Loveday.
