    3. Hi Jenny You also need to look at West Dereham, which is where at least one branch of the NURSE family settled. This isn't my family but West Dereham is one of my villages and that's where a Valentine NURSE lived (son of William & Jane). http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tinstaafl/Church_Pages/dereham_west.htm Stradsett is an estate church and the PRs are not easily available. kind regards Sheila ________________________________ From: Jenny Comben <davcom@tpg.com.au> To: norfolk@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, 20 August, 2011 9:20:05 Subject: [NFK] Nurse - Wing - Parker I am tracing my family tree and are looking for the name Nurse. I have John Nurse born 1795 at Stradsett Norfolk. He married Ann. Two of their children are: Henry married Susan Colden (Colding?) and one of their children Aves married Jemima Nurse daughter of Alfred and Matilda (nee Wing) Alfred married Matilda Wing who is the daughter of James Wing and Susan Parker. Parker is my main line. I think John born 1795 may have had a brother Henry born 1796 who had a son Valentine and Valentine had a son Filber but i am not sure. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. 3. I just looked at the National Archives of Australia site and the immigration records for Charles Moore and Mildred Athow are out there. Go to: www.naa.gov.au ; click on RecordSearch in the top right hand corner; click on Search as guest; and enter Athow as a keyword. Just an FYI for you both. This program lists all parishes in the UK and can give maps centred on a particular parish and depicting the surrounding parishes. I've found it useful when I needed to know which parishes were closest to a given parish or the distance between two places. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg

    3. Use google maps satellite view , it is as quick as any of the other sources and you get an idea of how far apart the villages are ( usually the villages coincide roughly with parishes) Horningtoft, Stanfield, East Bilney, North Elmham and Mileham would be my first choices but if you put the last name in the free reg on Free BMD you might spot likely family clusters for an additional lead. 3. Hi, I have always found that family historians are incredibly helpful people and forums are great for providing support and ideas on how to get further in our research. However if, despite everything, you just cannot knock down that brickwall, you might find it helpful to visit The Brickwall Club at http://www.facebook.com/notes.php?id=100002780642465&drafts#!/pages/The-Brickwall-Club/260199727343435. I'm hoping that, as the club develops, we can all help each other to fill in the gaps and to find those elusive ancestors!! So, if you have hit a brickwall in your family history research ... join the club! Chris
