My Uncle was in CCC about 1932. He was from San Mateo and was at Gasque Del Norte Co.The record Janie posted does not show a record for that camp until 1938. "Co 5478 took over camp, F-18 as Company 709 disbanded." Uncle said he caught the bus in S.F. rode all day , it dropped him at Eureka. That was as far as the bus went. he hitched rides ,few and far between in those days, to the CCC camp Cresent City. ----- Original Message ----- From: "James R Smith" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; "Janie" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 05, 2012 4:55 PM Subject: Re: [NORCAL] CCC camps for Northern CA & Southern OR > That's fantastic Janie.
