Thanks so much Susan; My Cobb, Marble and Hinton families were living in Lake County since the 1860s. My Hinton grandfather moved his family from Lower Lake, Lake County to Willitts, Mendocino County about 1908. I heard stories about the time they lived in these places, so expected to see some of my names in the listing you sent - then realized they moved back to Lake County after 1910 so, of course, they missed being mentioned in the newspaper. The early newspapers printed so much local news. I am indeed grateful to all transcribers - these snippets give us a glimse into the lives of our family (my father, his sisters and brothers) made the 'papers' occasionally in Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties. Our family especially sends thanks to Phil Carnahan for his labor of love to record the cemeteries (and photograph the markers for us who cannot get there), and for the transcriptions he has extracted for Mendocino County. Those of us who see our family names in these transcriptions send lots of HUGS for doing this for us.
