    2. Steve mentioned that his site may crash on April 2nd because of the demand. His recommendation was to be prepared before April 2 by going to his web site now and when you do be sure to type in ORG and NOT COM. If he comes to your area as a guest speaker I would recommend taking the time to go and listen to his presentation. I did and I am glad I did so.  ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 8:12:04 PM Subject: Re: [NORCAL] A topical topic 1940 Census You must know the ED in order to locate your people. and a Legacy class I attended today gave a help site --it's stevemorse.org--. 1 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Margaret Toole" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 1:43:28 PM Subject: Re: [NORCAL] A topical topic 1940 Census Sorry this was the actual address for the webpage in my toolbar: https://the1940census.com/?gclid=CPvQxvDr-K4CFQcFRQod3TTMwg This is what the first part says: On April 2, 2012, NARA will provide access to the images of the 1940 United States Federal Census for the first time. Unlike previous census years, images of the 1940 U.S. Federal Census will be made available as free digital images. Upon its release, the 1940 U.S. Census Community Project, a joint initiative between Archives.com, FamilySearch, findmypast.com, and other leading genealogy organizations, will coordinate efforts to provide quick access to these digital images and immediately start indexing these records to make them searchable online with free and open access. And right next to that you can sign up to help index.

    1. [NORCAL] Passenger list - California to Japan
    2. Delage Francois
    3. Hi Guys, I would like to check the passenger list of the steamboat America who left San Francisco on the 4th of November 1869 to Honk Kong and Yokahama. This steamboat was owned by The Pacific Mail Steamship Company and I have no idea if they kept records of that time. Is anybody have already did some research of that sort ? All the best, Francois Delage ________________________________ De : "[email protected]" <[email protected]> À : [email protected] Envoyé le : Jeudi 22 mars 2012 23h42 Objet : Re: [NORCAL] A topical topic 1940 Census Steve mentioned that his site may crash on April 2nd because of the demand.
