Hi everyone, Here is my slightly convoluted and long winded update to the message I sent to this list asking if anyone had experience with Lafayette Cemetery, Lafayette, CA for Find A Grave. I received a lot of ideas and thoughts from you - many thanks! If you recall, this "public" cemetery wanted us, as volunteers, to pay them $65/hour for plot information. We then contacted the Lafayette Historical Society, which is somehow connected to the cemetery, and they told us they "loved" Find A Grave", had it "bookmarked", and would pass our message around to the appropriate person(s) for a response. We never heard back from the LHS, so, my husband physically went to the office at the cemetery, and was then told it would be $35/hour for a plot look up, firm, no exceptions (um - rather than $65/hour). I then wrote to the person who had originally asked for the photo and told her that she would have to call Lafayette Cemetery and get the plot info. She accepted this task, called the cemetery, and they gave her the plot info without question. She forwarded that info to me, we went back to the cemetery, and her photo is now up on Find A Grave.
