Hi gang, A bit of excitment here this afternoon, about a little after 1 p.m., a 5.5 quake struck, located about 6 mi. West of Weitichpec, then again at 3 one with 2.2 struck same place, and its raining here, had almost 5 inches over night..scanner hasn't jabbered it head off so damage must be minimal...hope so. am hanging on to anything for the 3rd jolt is as bad as the 1st jolt...you can go to the USGS site for more info. ~hum.Linda~

It's the center of the Hupa reservation and about 40 miles or so inland from Arcata (North and East). It also takes a native to know how to say it. :-), if that isn't clear enough it's not terribly far from the joining of the Trinity and the Klamath rivers in north eastern Humboldt County. rich, who originally hailed from Crescent City.
