Well, that's interesting, Susan, thanks so much for the info. On Ancestry this morning, I discovered they do have WW2 draft registrations up, but the search page lines are overlaid with other lines, plus I found errors. So I thought the 1940 census would be up and running as of this morning? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan Stuart" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, April 2, 2012 9:23:43 AM Subject: [NORCAL] 1940 Census Info Hello everyone, I received the below message from the co-coordinator of the Mioaklan list this morning. Susan - - - - - - "Hi all! I hope you're enjoying this fine April day. I know many of you are very excited about the release of the new census - including myself! Just so you're aware and don't start flooding the list with lookup questions immediately, the states are being rolled out individually, so its likely that we'll have to wait awhile for Michigan. So far all I've seen on Ancestry: American Samoa, Delaware, District of Columbia, Guam, Indiana, Maine, Nevada, Panama Canal, Rhode Island, and the Virgin islands, and they're working on New York right now. On FamilySearch, I've seen about the same on the indexing list. Findmypast doesn't give details of what's up and not up yet. Archives.com links to the main site. The main site is completely frozen and overwhelmed with demand. Hang in there, Michigan will come soon enough!
