He is LARRY TORONGO, from Merced, CA. 2] Hospital news~ PAT MENNING, has been hired as the interim hospital administrator, as the county takes over the newly named Trinity County General Hospital. 3] Apartment Complex ~ A 22-unit apartment project has been green lighted at hwy 299 and Washington St. The developement plan addressing design and infastrucutre needs, has been approved. 4] Retirees~ 3 long time Wvvlle telephone operators for Continental Telegraph Co., retired on 30, January 1987. The ladies were feted at the Gables to a retirement party. Nearly 90 friends and relatives, came together to salute, AILENE LOVING (13 yrs.), ARDIS SIMMONS(13 yrs.) and LAVERNE CASE (18 yrs.). High Winds ~ Winds of up to 60 to 70 knots struck last Wednesday, around 1 p.m., causing power outages(PG&E) and downed ree throughout the area. The ODD FELLOWS Camp lost nearly 15 trees, some as old as 200 yr old, uprooted in the winds. 2]. Snow Levels ~ The recent snow survey in the Trinity Alps, is down y 50% from the 10 yr. average. The results are taken from the surey of 26, February. The water content is about 60% of average. 3]. Weather ~ Rain to date 25.61 inches, with temps. averaging high's of 54 degrees, and low of 39 degrees. Last years rainfall was at 38.79 inches, temps, higs of 66 and lows of 41 degrees. Lake Level is at 80.6%, down from 87% last year. 26, March 1987. Tuesday. 1]. Youthful accident ~ 14 yrs. old, MATHEW HANNEMAN, nearly lost his hand to a 'souvenir- type' grenade, while visiting in Trinity Center, the devise exploded unexpectiedly. The Sheriff's Office is investigating how the grenade happened to be armed. The youth was sent to Redding's Mercy Hospital by their heliocoper(Mercy's).
