You might want to look at the Louisiana Death certificates. http://www.sos.la.gov/tabid/640/Default.aspx They are all more than 50 years old. Certified copies cost $5.00. Service is very quick. I live in Louisiana but I can order one by mail on Monday and have it by Friday. There were several Backus and Bachus. These did run more than one page but if another name you search does, be sure to look at the end. They are generally in alpha order but sometimes there are additional names at the end, not in any order.
