    3. Hi Nancy It's good to hear from you again. I always find your website very helpful and I have already check the 1916 telephone directory, but no go. I know the Thomas family were working class people and probably couldn't afford a phone. In the last day I have found out that George H Thomas was still alive in 1917 and had changed his occupation from "electrn" to "opr" but then he disappears from the SF City Directory in 1918. I also know from one of his step-son's WWI draft registration signed on 12 Sep 1918 that he named his mother, Elizabeth as his contact. The address was 1124 Magnolia in Oakland. So, if I could get my hands on at least the 1918 Alameda County directory I might have a chance of finding him with his new occupation. Perhaps the 1918 directory was destroyed or was never published. I can't find any source that has it.
