    1. [NORCAL] Just head of household listed
    2. We had lived in our home for ten years and the census taker just listed my father's name as head of household. My mother, sister, brother and I were all living there. Perhaps none of us were home and she listed my father from information from the city directory or from a neighbor. What do you think? Thanks, Dorothy

    3. If your dad was home, it would account for him being listed. If he was not....heaven's only knows. Some enumerators were just plain lazy and if no one was home, they never went back. Others made it a point to go back. In the 19oo census, my then dead (4 years) grandmother was listed...had all the correct info about her, except that they had her born in Ca. She was born in NY...Have never found out why they did that! 3. For what it is worth - I just transcribed a page of the census which was a collection of odds and ends. Each household listed was a continued. So it seems that at least that enumerator went back to visit houses to see people she had missed. Perhaps the enumerator doing your family also came back and the rest of the family is listed on a subsequent page -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Sunday, April 08, 2012 7:01 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [NORCAL] Just head of household listed We had lived in our home for ten years and the census taker just listed my father's name as head of household.
