Thanks to everyone's help on this list, I now have the death certificate of a great uncle. He was in Alameda County with the rest of his adult siblings but soon after he disappeared. I found a David Lowrie who was born in Scotland and about the right age in census records, but the chance of it being my David Lowrie was questionable. I found him on the CADI and decided I would never know unless I wrote for the certificate. It arrived today, and although the birth date is exactly 2 years off, he names his parents. So I know he belongs to our family. I have no one to share it with, so I will share with those who encouraged me get the copy. Thanks everyone. Nancy in Louisiana
