According to Ancestry.com my Lowrie ancestor registered to vote (Alameda County. pg. 97) 25 April 1867. The note says Registered under Section 8. What was Section 8 in 1867? This particular Great Register shows reigstations from 1866 to 1879, but nowhere can I find a year - must be after 1879. I was going to ask on the Hastings Library website but you have to be a student, alum or faculty and I am none of the above. Nancy Lowrie Wrght
