    3. This is interesting because there were Denman's in Ca, a Schoolboard member if not Supt of Schools, in the 1870's. One wonders how/when James' family became Hoopa. ________________________________ From: "scrapsbratt@aol.com" <scrapsbratt@aol.com> To: norcal@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, September 30, 2013 3:58 AM Subject: [NORCAL] 1940 census I have been trying to find James Raymond Denman on the 1940 census. He was born June 25 1932. It appears he belonged to the Hoopa Tribe in Humboldt Co. Was there a separate census for the Indians? 3. Marilyn, They are in the 1940 Indian Census of Humboldt County - James is living with his grandfather, Weaver Denman...in fact he is in the Indian Census of 1934, age 2, living with his grandfather. I've sent this information to the lady. If I found the correct one, he died in San Joaquin County - I don't remember the date.
