Glad to see some activity. I am still researching Woodlief family in California. My Col. D.J. Woodlief came to Calif. Sept. 1849, died in Nov. 1854. Left a widow, no name just a picture in Conquering the Wilderness, great book on Calif. with Widow of Col. Woodllief. Now I am looking for possible children by the widow who was his 2nd wife. Found a bill of sale for property between 6th to perhaps 2nd st and Bryant in May 1850, found a deed also in San Francisco in 1852. Names of close neighbors Jack Coffee Hays, Caleb Smith, among others. In your research please keep my ancestor in mind. His widow has been very elusive. Happy Easter and Spring. Quenci Scott
