I received the emails below, and have permission from the author to send them to Norcal. If there is anyone who could help him, I would be glad to send any and all info to him. I really don't know what he means about getting my email address, but am willing to help him if it helps my "genealogy karma". Could you post this query for me at this time and forward a response. I just got back from the Superstition mountains from a major hike before it gets too hot. Thank you so much for your help. I may join in the near future, because I have another search that I need for a person named Pierpont C. Bicknell a reporter during the 1880s & 1890s. I am giving a lecture this Thursday I have been on the web for hours using every search engine and web site to find John D. Walker's photo and obit. Thank you again, Jack San Felice _____ From: Susan D Slade Grossl <sdsladegrossl@cableone.net> To: j s Sent: Sat, March 20, 2010 7:56:35 AM Subject: RE: John D. Walker and Napa Asylum Jack, I wish I could help you, but I have no information about Napa. I would suggest that you join the rootsweb list NORCAL (stands for Northern California Genealogy). I know there has been discussions over the years about Napa on there. If you do not want to join yourself, I could post this query there for you and see if anyone has any help and or ideas for you. My other suggestion would be to check the census for 1880 and make sure he was not there then. That would help you narrow down the time frame that he could have been in Napa for you. I have a genealogy meeting to go to this morning so will be away from my computer for a while. Walker and Napa Asylum Susan, I am an author, researcher and adjunct professor searching for years for the obit and photo of John D. Walker (not to confused with John R. Walker. Walker was committed to Napa during the late 1880s or early 1890s and allegedly died there during 1890-1891. Are the inmate lists avaiable and death certificates obits recorded ? I have collected three 3-ring binders on Walker and lecture on him often. He was an early Arizona pioneer, hero during the Apache Wars, mine owner, rancher, Pima Tribe member, Probate Judge and Pima tribe benefactor as well as a medicine man who was self taught in medicine and often called Dr. Walker. Any info that you may care to share or point me in the right direction to find relevant data or a photo would be greatly appreciated. I got your email address from the Napa site. Thank you, Jack San Felice
