I was raised in San Carlos. I remember when I was young (late 40's early 50's), going with my father once a year to Cutler Brothers in San Francisco to buy two new suits. I don't recall the owners' names, but I seem to remember my father telling me that neither of the two gentlemen who then owned the store were "Cutler." But every year-and that was only once a year-when we went in, the gentlemen would greet my father by name and go to a box where they kept his card, that told them what he had previously bought and what his sizes were. They knew better than my father what he would like. As I recall, they carried only men's suits, jackets and pants. That was the old style service that is missed so much these days. Does anyone remember Cutler Brothers? I'm not sure exactly where it was, perhaps Mission St. near downtown. It wasn't in the fancy part of town though. Dorothy Keefe

Could it have been Kutner-Goldstein?
