Mrs Miller has been operating the Snug Cafe for the past 28 yrs., renting from H.W. GOETZE. GOETZE's building is now leased to Purity Stoes, Ltd., Which will open about 01, April. The dinning roo a the new cafe will seat 52 persons. The Kitchen is equipped with a modern steam table and conviences one would expect in a modern home. R.N. ALTERMATT, general contractor, was in charge of the remodeling. (Note: The Snug Cafe was in the building which housed Western Auto in 1985, then Textile Traditions home in 2010). The New York Coffee Shop occupied the building housing Western Title in 1985, with the Masonic Lodge on the top story. The winding stair case was erected in 1935. (The 2 winding staircases are in the center of the block, one on either side of Hwy 299, one is closest to the New York Saloon in 2010). All the proceeds go to swell the Heart Fund collection in the county. True to custom, come supper time, each man has the box lunch he won by bidding, plus the girl who made it, as his supper partner. Informal dress will be the mode of the evening with jeans and bright cotton dressed whirling though a real old fashion "Hoe-down". 4] Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and their leaders are pictured on page 5. The change was made from the 3rd week of August to Labor Day Weekend. 2] A Diesel spill at the Sheriff's office on Memorial Drive was treated with sand, straw and additional padding in the gulch.
