    1. [NORCAL] Frank Gerad Heyne (1911-193?)

    3. I've got another guy who has fallen off the face of the earth. He was born Frank G. Heyne in 1911. He had a sister Vivian. His parents divorced 1912-1916 when his mother, Myrtle Ward married Ernest J. Tyman in Eureka. In 1929, Myrtle died in Oakland. In her obit the children are listed as Tymans. In 1932 and 1934 Humboldt County Voter's registers, I think Frank was using Heyne again. After 1934 he disappears. In both registers he is listed with Mrs. Gertrude Heyne at the same address in Eureka. In both cases Frank does not have an occupation. Can someone look at the CDI 1930-1939? The step-father, Ernest John Tyman, 1930-1934 is a house painter living at an Alameda county TB sanitorium in Murray township, leading to believe that Myrtle and possibly her son and second husband all died of TB. Neither Ernest or Frank show up in the CDI after 1940. If I had a date to go on, I could possibly find a chatty obit up here in Humboldt County. Thanks so much to anyone who can find these death dates. EdrieAnne

    3. EdrieAnne...... Ernest J. Tymon died on 07/15/1934.  In the Voter Registration (1934) He was at the Arroyo Sanitarium in Livermore. Notice that the last name was spelled with an "O" instead of an  "A". The obit for Myrtle that you refer to is it from the Oakland Tribune? She died in an automobile accident in Oakland. Law suit was filed in Oakland Superior Court. I will check for an obit for Ernest in the Oakland Tribune tomorrow. Since Frank was only 19 years old in the 1930 census, he may still be living. 3. Ernest J. Tymon in the 1930 census resided at that same sanitorium but as an employee, a house painter. Would a sanitorium have listed a patient as an employee? I guess to answer my own question, if that 'employee' was living at the sanitorium, perhaps he had been diagnosed, isolated (guarantee at the sanitorium), and allowed to work in the institution. Frank G. Tymon/Heyne in the same 1930 census was living in Providence Hospital as a single 19 year old and working as a laundryman. When he registered to vote in 1932 and 1934 in Eureka he was apparently married and had no occupation. In the 1920 and 1930 census, Frank was counted as Tymon but in voter's registration he was entered as Heyne. I'll see if I can find out more when I go to the County Library this afternoon.

    2. I am asking for assistance reading a census image I found 2 days ago. This seems to be a breakthrough in one of my lines. The family is in the 1880 census for HotSprings Twp, St. Helena, Napa Co.: Wallopia(Guadalupe) ROMERO age:36/56? Farmer Can't read birth areas Ramona(?) 40 Wadalope(Guadalupe) 13 CA ? ? ?(starts with T?) female 10 Refugia(?) female 3 Helena female 1 (listed as sickly/deformed) Wilson ? 38 Nephew b.Sonora f.Sonora m.Sonora I believe the daughter is my missing Guadalupe who may have been married 3 times as it turns out since the names she has been known by were first TORRES, then married John BACQUE, then Patrick HIGUERA. I found a naturalization for her father(also)Guadalupe ROMERO which led to this census for 1880. I can't locate them in 1870 and found the father in 1900 in Napa with a wife Maria and daughter Helena. Thanks for the help, Margaret

    3. On Ancestry's copy, the daughter in question looks like "Lourdes" and her age is listed as 11 or 12. The census taker wrote one and then overwrote the other. You can tell it's a 2 because of the tail on the number. A 0 doesn't have a bottom tail. ----- Original Message ----- From: <toolelips@charter.net> To: <norcal@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 30, 2010 8:55 AM Subject: [NORCAL] NORCAL>Guadalupe ROMERO>Napa>1880 > > I am asking for assistance reading a census image I found 2 days ago. > This seems to be a breakthrough in one of my lines. 3. Birthplace is listed as "Cal" for all the Romero's. Can't figure out the first name of the Wilson nephew. Name begins with J and ends with "in." Almost looks like Josephin if that makes sense.
