The principal witness was a small girl who was present at the time of the accident. The woman was working around a cook stove in the center of a cabin at the CARUTHERS ranch, on Kings river, Tuesday evening, when her clothes caught fire. She ran from the cabin and secured a coat with which she tried to smother the flames, but failing in this she ran back into the hut, which caught fire from her clothes. She then came out again, tearing the clothes from her. When help arrived, she was found naked and terribly burned about the lower part of the body. She was cared for but died from her wounds Wednesday evening. The cabin, which was constructed of light material, was destroyed. The woman was buried today. She was of Spanish descent, 37 years of age and unmarried. SAMUEL SKEEN, who has been an inmate of the county hospital suffering with consumption, died there Wednesday.
