I know many folks on the list have ancestors who spent time at Agnews State Hospital in Santa Clara County...or at least have been looking for info about Agnews. May 8th 2010 the San Jose Mercury ran a story about a new Museum in Santa Clara that "provides a glimpse into the life of a former institution that to the outside world was shrouded in mystery and rumor." The museum is open to the public and is free but you must make an appointment to go. The museum is located at 1250 Hope Drive in Santa Clara. According to the article it is a one-room tile roofed building made up of bricks that were part of the Agnews visitor center. The building is located by the Agnews cemetery.
