I got my learner's permit when I was 15 1/2. A neighbor would take me out in her Volvo because my Mom worked. I learned to drive in Eureka. I remember when my Mom took me to get my permit, she argued with the lady behnd the counter because the birth date on the BC was wrong. It said the 4th and it should have been the 7th. The lady told my Mom she had to use the date on the certificate and my Mom told her she knew it was wrong because she was there. The DMV could have cared less and for the next 10 yrs that date continued to be wrong on my driver's license. Now that I do family research, I can so appreciate that incorrect vital record.
