Thursday. 1] The first of what is hoped will be a regular series of outdoor band concerts is planned for next Sunday 12, May, when the Trinity County Band under the direction of G.H.GOODY will present a special Mother's Day program at the bandstand near the courthouse. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and will continue until 7:40. Cooperation of the theatre management has been obtained so that all may hear the entire program and still be able to attend the show. 3] MRS. Presentation of the check was made by JAMES A.HOLLAND. 448 students, past and present, contrubited to the fund over a period of 11 years. The orginal purpose had been to purchase new Band uniforms. 2] ZAFRON HARTMAN, tendered his resignation as superintendent of Trinity County High School and is to reassigned as a teacher. 3] 2 FIRES, were reported on the Trinity Lake district during the past 2 weeks. Both fires were brought under control quickly. The wods are already extremly dry, and fire season has already begun. Campfire permits and burning permits are now required. 4] Fishing is god in the creeks with flies, worms and eggs, bringing results. Fish are small. Fishing is fair elsewhere. 5] ALL Catholic Churches in the county will mark Mother's DAy with the traditional crowning of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the model of all mothers. At St. Patrick's Church, SOPHIE GOODYEAR has been chosen as the Queen with SANDY POLKA, MARY MITCHELL, JANE NOWASKI, SUSAN SHEPARD, MARGIE HROVAT, NORA FIELDS, MARY BABROOK and JUDY PRNJAK.<as spelled>.
