    3. >From the News Back Then column. 150 yrs ago. 05, May 1860. Saterday. 1] RATHER HOT - we are informed that the themometer stood at 93 F at North Fork last Thursday, but now a mix of rain, and snow storm is falling as we go to press. It commenced 48hrs. ago and promises to keep comming. 2] Mr. JOHN COLBERT give notice that he will give a dance party at his hote on Oregon Gulch, on the evening of 01, June. By that time the road over the Moutain will be in good condition. The occasion will be well patronized. 3] ADV...Strawberry and Dancing Party at Messeville, Frday, 08, June by A.J. FELTER. The company will asseble at 4 O'clock, p.m. A Strawberry supper will be served at 6 O'clock and dancing to commence at 7. THink of a lovely buggy ride over the divide, strawrries and cream at 6 .p.m., a jolly good dance, supper at 12 O'clock (a.m.), another dance, and a ride back between daylight and Sunrise, to say nothing of the strife as to who shall take the lead. Remember the Strawberry Party Friday, 08, June. 125 yrs ago. 02, May 1885. Saterday. 1] SHAMEFULL! ----Last Sunday morning, a lady visiting the MASONIC Cemetery at this place found within the enclosure 17 head of cattle. Much of the grass growing on the graves had been eaten off, growing plants, and flowers destroyed, vases upset and broken, and other damage done. AS the gates are fastened on the inside and the fence secure against the invasion of stock, it is inferred that some miscreant (Vandal/ mal content) had deliberately opend the gates, and turned the cattle into graze. Such action cannot be censured too severly. Anyone guilty of willing marring or destroying any part of the scared spots should be dealt with without mercy. 2] According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the lineal decendants of BRIGHAM YOUNG now number 15,000. 3] Rainfall for the month of April, 2.78 inches; water-fall for season 27.49inches. These late showers are of benefit of the grass and vegetation in general, but not much is added to the water supply for mining purposes. ~end. ~Linda~ Willow Creek, CA.
