I mentioned around 1948, but it could have been during the war. I left NBC in 1943 for the merchant marine, so it might have been then. (8 a. m.) I was often his announcer. Art was a perfectionist and I thought he was kind of tough on me, but at 26 I wasn't the most mature person, and I wasn't that great an announcer.
