Dee, Glad your back. I read all your postings. Still looking for the SOBERANES family in the area of Lucerne (Armona) and Hanford. ISIDORO (YSIDRO) SOBERANES died May 9th 1904 in Fresno County but in the 1900 Census the family was living in Lucerne. He had two children born in 1894 and 1896 that we still can not find a place of birth and Isidor's death certificate gives us nothing as to cause of death or where he is buried. Isidor is my step great-grandfather and he is the grandfather to my cousin PATRICIA (SOBERANES) MACIAS. Patsy and I have been getting a lot of help from a gentleman that contacted me in regards to my last posting to you for help in this matter. To him I say Thank You, with great appreciation. He has taken time out of his life to do research for someone he doesn't know and to us that proves we are one family. The mystery of the where abouts of ISIDORO (YSIDRO) SOBERANES is our quest for 2010 and Patsy and I are hopeful that we will find his resting place soon. Your continuing help with the newspaper transcriptions could give us that one clue we need to find ISIDORO (YSIDRO) SOBERANES and make our family connections. The wife of Isidor was MRCIALLA BUELNA a direct descendant of JOSE ANTONIO BUELNA a spanish soldier and one of the first colonial settlers to California in the late 1700's. It's our belief that Isidor is a descendant of MARIANO DE JESUS SOBERANES y CASTRO and MARIA RAYMUNDA CASTILLO Y SINOVA and that making his connection would complete this family line for Patsy's Soberanes connection. Keep up the appreciated good work and Happy New Year. Sandra O'Haro Sheddy.
