    3. Betty, the Vitzthum family was a well known Trinity County pioneer family. I checked my indexes for the TJ and find no mention of this family, but I will keep my eyes open. There is a Vitzthum road or lane sign I have seen many times. If I think of it I will take a pic of it next time I'm by there.     3. Thank you Margaret, I have a pic of the sign "Vitzthum Gulch" road. When you are passing through the Red Barn is what is left of the Vitzthum barn - they had to slit it to make way for 299. The little white house just to the East is where my grandmother was raised. This family really seemed to keep to themselves. I think since Mom spent the last 30 years of her life in the Hospital and the men ran the household there wasn't as much notice. Betty
