I know this much that he belonged to the Odd Fellows, that Aerie F.O.E. is the Faternal Order of Eagles not related to the Odd Fellows and that the other organizations mentioned are some kinds of fraternal orgnaizations. I know that some records were destroyed in 1906 but if anyone knows of any other place they might have been recorded or kept it might help. Thanks so much everyone!! 1. [NORCAL] Hiller help please
    2. Lloyd Neilsen
    3. I am researching my great grandfather Adolph Hiller ( I know the name took me aback also lol). I have some confusing information about him that I was hoping someone on the list could help me with. >From the Great Register of Voters 1890 for San Francisco I have this information and was wondering if anyone could get a copy of the original naturalization records: Naturalized 26 March 1875 36 years old born Germany Registered 26 August 1890 District D32 Precinct P3 I do not know anything about what port he might have entered the U.S. I only have one census record for him which is the 1900 census. If someone could look on the 1880 census for him it could really help with a lot of questions. Adolph Hiller not married....did not marry until 1887 birthdate of 30 Oct 1853 occupation not known but later he was a stationer/book store owner or possibly an owner of a tobacco store I have him living on Stockton Street, Eddy Street, Chestnut Street on different city directories His death date was 7 Oct 1908...his birthdate is shown as 30 Oct 1853 that he had been in the U.S. for 30 years. Parents names unknown but both born Germany. The information was given by his wife Amelia Davis Hiller. Here comes the confusion....of course I know that information on the census etc is only as good as the person giving it but there is such a difference of dates that it's making me crazy. The 1900 census shows that he came to the U.S. in 1858. If that is the case then he was a small child of about 5 years old. That does not go along with his age or birthdate from anywhere else. Also if he was 36 years old when naturalized in 1875 then that puts his birth year at about 1839 which doesn't go with anything else either. I have a picture of him from 1888 and he is clearly still a very young looking man. Any help anyone can give me sure would be appreciated!!! Lee in Eastern Utah lloyd_neilsen@me.com

    1. [NORCAL] Nevada marriage record - help please?
    2. Lars Oyane
    3. Dear Listers, I am having difficulties locating a marriage record from Reno, NV and wonder whether anyone can help me find it? Henning Elsworth HAYDAL Jaqueline Annette McCOURTNEY were married at Reno, Washoe Co., NV on or about July 27, 1968. There is an online database of marriages in Washoe Co., NV (http://icris.washoecounty.us:8888/clerk/eagleweb/docSearchResults.jsp?searchId=0) referring to this marriage under reference #0694388, but the date is given as Jan. 1, 1980. In fact all marriages occurring in Washoe Co., NV prior to 1980 appear to have this date as the marriage date! But isn't there another database giving "correct" marriage dates? It seems to me marriage dates for Reno, NV have been found before by someone on the NorCal List? Thanks a million in advance for any suggestions! Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Oyane

    3. Dear Listers, I am trying quite hard to figure out what may have happened to this gentleman: George Percy KNIGHT born Mar. 14, 1883 in Dane Co., WI married in 1905 and lived in La Crosse, WI about 1910 George and his wife Tilda (Knudson) were divorced about 1914 The WW1 draft record shows George in Blaine Co., MT The 1930 census shows George as a divorcee in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara Co. CA He was a restaurant cook of occupation. I lose track of him after 1930 and wonder whether he may have died in CA between 1930 and 1940? Maybe someone could please check the CADI 1930-1939 for this name? Thanks a million in advance for any suggestions as to what became of George Perce Knight! Very sincerely yours, Lars E.
